Rebecca Thompson is Vice President of Public Affairs and was appointed to this position in 2019. Ms. Thompson has over 20 years of public and private sector experience in media, strategic communications planning, and government relations. Previously, she worked as a Director for Nieuport Aviation Infrastructure Partners, overseeing communications, marketing, government relations and sustainable development strategies. Prior to that, Ms. Thompson served as a senior aide to Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper and several Cabinet Ministers, overseeing government and stakeholder communications, advertising, media and social media strategies, and managing crisis communications. She also worked for several years as a television news reporter and political commentator for a national broadcaster. Ms. Thompson holds a degree in Political Science from Western University and is a member of the Conference Board of Canada’s Corporate-Indigenous Relations Council.
