Success at the grassroots exploration stage results in projects moving up the development pipeline, which means they are getting closer to becoming actual mines. Of these, Alamos generally defines advanced exploration projects to be ones that have clearly defined mineral resources with reasonable prospects for being developed into standalone mines or satellite mines in addition to our existing operations. (As opposed to projects deemed to be further away from production in the development pipeline, typically due to the fact that they have only been exposed to preliminary exploration work).
There are currently three core advanced exploration projects at Mulatos. These projects have been handed off to our engineering teams to study the economic viability of mining these deposits from which we derive reserves. If those results reinforce our strong belief in these projects, they will be advanced to the Mine Development phase.
