Health and Safety

The health and safety of our employees, our community and our environment – these are all high priorities for Alamos in everything we do. We design our projects and activities in a manner that minimizes risks to everyone involved, mitigates impacts on the environment, and promotes prosperity in the local economy.

How serious are we about these objectives?

We’ve laid them out in black and white in our Technical, Environmental, Social and Employees' Health and Safety Committee Charter. Standardizing them and spelling them out this way better enables us to put them into practice in our camp and community.

To promote the health of both our employees and community members in Mexico, we’ve built a Medical Clinic that is available 24/7, year round. Along with day-to-day health and emergency care, this invaluable resource offers clinical programs such as annual exams,

vaccines, and employee health and safety education. As well, keeping in mind the importance of social and mental health, our Mulatos Camp is equipped with sports facilities, activity rooms, and access to satellite TV and the Internet.

With regard to our promotion of a safe work environment through guidelines and proper training, we are proud to report that no fatal mine accidents have occurred – a statistic we are intent on maintaining.

It just makes sense to do all this. After all, a company is only as healthy as its employees.
