Corporate responsibility begins with our own people and in the employment practices that form the cornerstone of our operations.
First, there is the benefit to the local people reflected in our hiring practices. Over 97% of our approximately 500 Mulatos Mine employees are Mexican nationals. These employees receive better pay, skills training, housing, health care, and education for their children than many of them would otherwise have access to. This is part of our commitment to the economic growth of the surrounding communities and the social responsibility to their people. (For more on this, see Community.)
Next is the Mulatos Camp. With the camp’s countless health and recreation facilities, home comforts and free services, our facilities offer all our employees living standards that we consider to be far above what other mine sites have to offer.
And then there is the Alamos way. Simply put, it is the promotion of a safe, respectful work environment in which anyone with the will has the opportunities to grow and prosper.
We take care of our people. In return, they take care of business – and prove daily that they are the best in the business.
